Jet Pack Jesus
Anyone who loves the great rock, alternative and indie bands of the last five decades will love the live performances of Jet Pack Jesus, these five musicians from Bristol keep the crowd on their feet all night long. Belting out tracks from legends such as The Beatles and The Stones through to The Killers and the Kings of Leon, there’s something for everyone in their set. The bands repertoire is continually increasing and with a bit of notice they’ll even work in a couple of requests to suit your wedding, party or corporate event. Jet Pack Jesus are regulars on the Bristol pub and club scene along with appearances at sporting events, festivals and charity events. Drew Ford (Lead Vocals), Tristan Exon (Rhythm guitar and Backing Vocals, and also taking the lead on some songs), Charlie Hallett (Lead Guitar), Darrin Jones (Bass and Synth) and Matt Derrick (Drums) have a huge amount of gigging experience between them. Their high energy performances are well renowned in the Bristol area and having this full on, five piece band rocking up your venue or event will certainly give your guests something to talk about.

Having found JPJ online whilst lying by the pool enjoying the glorious Greek sun with rum in hand, he was the final piece of the mad puzzle that is Jet Pack Jesus. Eager to get gigging, break some strings, get people dancing and sweat through some shirts, he was eager to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. Updates from the Band
Well what a year it’s been. Like you all we cannot wait for life to return to ‘normal’ and getting back on the scene and at a venue near you. For us, we’ve had a slight rebrand and are now simply JPJ. There were a few reasons for this and we felt it was right to do and what better time to do so then after a long hiatus and a new member on board. A new member on board? Yes! As you may remember we had a change in our line up last January and as yet we’ve not had the chance to gig together and we can’t wait to unveil Adam ‘Vinnie’ Jones to our following. Vin comes with a lot of gigging experience and a slightly different vibe on some of our old favourites. When we’ve been allowed to do so we’ve been in the practice room getting Vin up to speed and adding some new tunes to our set so now just eager to get back out there.
After a break over Christmas and some very productive time in the studio what better way to start a busy 2019 than with a gig at The Fire Engine in Redfield, it was great to see the place packed on Saturday night and everyone having great time.
So what has 2019 got in store for you, well……………. It’s going to be epic. We have gigs at all our regular venues with new venues such as the Rising Sun in Ashton Gate and The Lamb in Cadbury Heath wanting a bit of the JPJ madness this year. Oh…and keep an eye on our website and social media for an announcement regarding a very special event in September, not going to give too much away but keep the 21st free if you love your music.
One more thing before we sign off…………Drew is trekking to Machu Picchu in October this year to raise money and awareness for MIND the mental health charity, I’m sure you’ll all agree it’s a fantastic cause and if you can afford a donation to this worthy cause please do so by navigating to. www.justgiving.com/Andrew-ford11 or text OTIB82 followed by the amount (eg 10) to 70070 (Link on our FB)
A new year is upon us and it gives us a bit of time to reflect on the last and look forward to this.
2018 saw us play a more varied gig range from new venues, more weddings and the RAF 100th Anniversary celebrations at The Bristol Aerospace Museum. We got back in the studio and recorded some tracks (which will be available for you all to listen to soon), needless to say it was our most successful year yet.
So, what does 2019 look like?? Well we’ve already got a pretty full schedule although we don’t kick off our lives until mid Feb. We’ve already bounced around ideas for new songs to add to our set and if you’ve got any suggestions please feel free to let us know. We’re also exploring doing some original material which you may hear live.
I’ve saved the most anticipated thing til last and yes I can confirm Darrin has a new hat!
See below for a selection of our current set. We are always working on new songs and always try to accommodate any requests. We can also do a selection of acoustic songs should the occasion call for it.
